Lost at Sea

On with our vacation explanation from last week: Wednesday we went to Mystic Seaport and took a bjillion pictures so here is a recap from the first picture grid in order:
1 - The boys went whaling and got stuck in a storm, and almost fell out of their boat
2 - So did mom and dad. Sorry, dad's head is cut off but that's just the way Picasa works sometimes
3 - Dad and the boys posed outside one of the houses on Main St
4 - So did mom and the boys. Baby did a fabulous job of sleeping most of the day so she is posing in her stroller.
5 - Mom sat outside the huge whaling ship and admired main street imagining the days when that's what main st really looked like. Such a different era while
6 - The boys toured the ship
7 - We all watched the blacksmith in the real working blacksmith shop make a piece of jewelry. Here he is drilling a hole with a hand crank drill press.
8 - Prince and mom rode a fishing boat
9 - The kids went crab fishing

We visited the art gallery and tried our hand at art. They have a board in there to help you learn how to draw boats. Mom's first attempt is the top right picture. Dad enjoyed a good laugh at mom's lack of talent. Prince's drawing is just below that. And below that was my second attempt which was at least better than the first, though that's about all that can be said of it. On the left is dad's attempt. He didn't follow any "instructions", just sat down to sketch the other end of the boat you see in #9 in the grid above.

The weather was gorgeous and we enjoyed a lovely hour watching the kids play on play boats. These boats are a work of art. Nice enough to display in your living room. (Supposing you had a living room large enough to display a 12 foot boat). Sorry the pictures are so little but there were too many cute ones to not post them all. Click on it and they will be a little bigger.

To finish off our long day at sea, we went to dad's softball game where they won 10-2. Go Dad!
