Sunday, November 5th ~ Hannah at one day old. We did not snap a picture of it but our little hand sucker found her skinny little thumb once. She latched right on to breast feeding, though is only interested in eating about every 4 hrs. The doctors keep telling mom to wake her up and feed her but she just isn't interested until she's interested. Stubborn like her mom?
But not to worry, she is the most contented child. Leave her snuggled against mom and there is no one happier. Her only request? Keep those swaddling nurses away. The 2nd night a nurse took her to the nursery for her weigh in. She came back sleeping soundly. An hour later mom woke up to an irate baby girl. She was tightly swaddled (I've never seen such a good swaddling job before!) and mad as could be. With mom's limited mobility and a screaming baby lying on her chest, it took a while to free her arms from the two blankets. Mom hobbled down the halls on future weigh-ins and kindly unswaddled her as soon as the nurses disappeared. She knows what she wants ... and it isn't what "all babies" want. Sound familiar?

You know, it's just another wrinkly newborn baby unless it's yours. Then it's cute. Congratulations, she looks fine. Channing, you sound like a she-bear protecting her cub when you talk about the nurses taking care of Hannah. That tells me these kids have a great mom that will take care of them.
